Our Walkabenefits partner this January is an amazing organization called UnChained. For every order placed this month, we will donate $1 to help rescue dogs and at-risk youth get a second chance at life.
UnChained’s Canines Teaching Compassion program rehabilitates at-risk youth through evidence-based training and interactions with rescue dogs, providing both of them a second chance at life! A win-win for all!
When youth are given the task of training and socializing homeless dogs who share similar experiences of neglect, abandonment, or abuse, they begin to feel empathy and compassion for others, while improving their own sense of self-worth and self-efficacy. In addition, when dogs are well-trained and socialized, they have a 50% greater chance of permanent placement into an adoptive home. More than 90% of the dogs in our program are adopted within 30 days of graduating.
